Marketing for remodelers

A homeowner about to spend $80,000 on a kitchen compares three or four remodelers before calling one. They search Google, study the photos, read the reviews and now ask ChatGPT. We make your company the one they choose to call.

Free, 20 minutes, no pitch: where you stand, what we’d do first and a clear price.

Every 11 seconds, a homeowner searches for a remodeler near them.

01The homeowner’s path

How homeowners choose a remodeler

Homeowners choose a remodeler online: they shortlist 2 or 3 companies from Google and AI answers, then call them. Homeowners choose a remodeler in 5 steps:

  1. The cut Only the shortlist goes past here

  1. “kitchen remodel near me”, “bathroom remodel cost”, or a question to ChatGPT or Google’s AI answer.

90,500searches a month for “kitchen remodel near me” across the US

Across the US, people search “kitchen remodel near me” about 90,500 times a month and “bathroom remodel near me” another 90,500 times. They search “bathroom remodel cost” 33,100 times a month and “remodeling contractors near me” 27,100 times (Google Ads data, October 2026).

Google is still where most searches start: 71% of consumers use Google to find local businesses, down from 83% a year earlier. AI tools like ChatGPT are now third, at 45%, up from 6% (BrightLocal, 2026 survey of 1,002 US adults).

  2. Google’s map shows three local companies at a time, and AI answers draw on the same map.

74.6%of the firms AI tools recommend most are in Google’s map results

Google’s map results show three local companies at a time. A homeowner with three or four names already has a shortlist.

AI answers build on that map. In a study of 10,000 US businesses (Insites, September 2026), 74.6% of the firms AI tools recommended most were in Google’s map results. Of the firms AI tools never recommended, 21.1% were.

The Google Business Profile behind each map listing is the largest single source AI answers cite for local businesses: 28.5% of 1.97 million citations (BrightLocal, 200,000 searches, September 2026). 40% of consumers trust AI platforms to recommend a business (BrightLocal, 2026 survey).

A remodeler missing from the map and the AI answer at step 2 never gets to show its work at step 3.

The cut Only the shortlist goes past here

  3. Finished kitchens and baths in homes like theirs, with real photos.

1,900searches a month for “kitchen remodel before and after”

People search “kitchen remodel before and after” about 1,900 times a month across the US (Google Ads data, October 2026).

A homeowner compares projects that look like their own house: the same style, the same size of budget, the same kind of neighborhood. Real project photos with the place and the scope give them that comparison.

The same project pages get a remodeler found. A company’s website is the source AI answers cite most, at 42% of citations (BrightLocal, September 2026). Firms that AI tools found had 34.8 pages on average, against 15.2 for firms AI tools missed (Insites, September 2026).

  4. They check the star rating, the number of reviews and how recent the reviews are.

97%of consumers read reviews for local businesses

According to BrightLocal’s 2026 survey of 1,002 US adults, 97% of consumers read reviews for local businesses. 74% care only about reviews written in the last three months.

68% will only use a business with four stars or more. 47% won’t use a business with fewer than 20 reviews. 89% expect the owner to reply to reviews.

Reviews also decide who AI answers name. Firms named by ChatGPT and Google’s AI Mode had a median of 444 Google reviews, against 192 for firms left out, at nearly the same rating (Zarla, 1,851 firms, August 2026).

  5. From two or three firms.

2 to 3quotes compared by most homeowners before they hire

Homeowners compare quotes before they hire. In Modernize’s 2024 Homeowner Insights Report, 42% of homeowners compared two quotes and 28% compared three.

Every firm a homeowner calls at step 5 made the shortlist at step 2.

02Our research, October 2026

What we found when we scanned 20 remodelers

Our scan of 20 remodelers found that most are missing from AI answers, even when homeowners find them first on Google Maps. In October 2026 we ran our Visibility Report on the first 20 remodelers in Google Maps for “kitchen remodeling” in Austin, Charlotte, Denver and Scottsdale. The scan found 5 gaps:

  • Missing from AI answers

    15 of 20

15 of 20 remodelers were not named by ChatGPT, Gemini or Google’s AI answer when asked who is best for their kind of work in their own town.

    The numbers

Missing from AI answers, the numbers

ChatGPT named 1 of the 20. Gemini named 3. Google’s AI answer appeared for 5 of the searches and named 1 of the 20.

ChatGPT and Gemini named 5 companies in almost every answer. That is the AI shortlist: 5 names for a whole metro area.

The AI answers cited directories and lists more than the remodelers’ own websites. Houzz was cited in 9 answers, Reddit in 6, contractorsranked.com in 5 and Thumbtack in 4.

  • On the map, not in AI

    8 of 13

8 of 13 remodelers in Google’s top 3 on the map were still not named by any AI assistant.

    The numbers

On the map, not in AI, the numbers

13 of the 20 remodelers were in the top 3 of Google’s map results for at least 2 of their 3 main searches. 8 of those 13 were missing from every AI answer.

A spot on the map does not carry over to AI answers. 2 of the 20 were not in the top 20 of the map for any of their searches.

  • Slow on a phone

    15 of 17

15 of 17 websites took longer than 4 seconds to load in Google’s phone test, which Google rates as poor.

    The numbers

Slow on a phone, the numbers

The middle website took 9.2 seconds to load on a phone. The middle phone score was 49 out of 100.

The middle homepage weighed 6 MB. The heaviest weighed 39.5 MB.

  • Fewer reviews than the leader

    11 of 18

11 of 18 remodelers had fewer Google reviews than the leader on their own map search.

    The numbers

Fewer reviews than the leader, the numbers

The middle remodeler had 38 Google reviews. The leaders they trailed had a middle count of 84.

2 of the 18 had fewer than 20 reviews, and 47% of consumers won’t use a business with fewer than 20 (BrightLocal, 2026). 2 of the 18 were rated below 4.5 stars.

  • No Google ads

    8 of 20

8 of 20 remodelers ran no Google ads while competitors in their area advertised.

    The numbers

    No Google ads, the numbers

Competitors advertised on Google or Facebook in 19 of the 20 areas. 12 of the 20 remodelers ran Google ads, and 4 ran Facebook ads.

  • Gaps per remodeler

    11 of 20

11 of 20 remodelers had 3 or more of the 4 gaps: AI answers, website speed, reviews and ads.

    The numbers

    Gaps per remodeler, the numbers

Every one of the 20 remodelers had at least 1 of the 4 gaps. 16 had 2 or more. 11 had 3 or more. 2 had all 4.

A spot on the map earns the first look. The website, the reviews and the AI answers decide the call.

Free Visibility Report

Your own report shows where your company stands on each, in about a minute.

Method: the first five independent remodelers with a website in Google Maps results for “kitchen remodeling” in each city (a handyman, a cabinet chain and firms without a website skipped), scanned on 2026-10-26 with the same free report anyone can run. The AI question uses each firm’s main trade (from its name, website and Google category) and town. Where a check could not run for a firm, it is left out of that count (three speed tests, two review comparisons). “The middle” is the median. Totals only, no business names.

03The work

What we do for remodelers

We do 5 jobs for remodelers: the website, Google and Maps, reviews, ads, and AI answers. Together they get homeowners to find your company and choose it.

  1. A website that shows the work

The problemA homeowner decides from your finished rooms whether to ask you for a consultation.

What we doWe design and build your website around your projects. Each finished project gets its own page with the room, the town and the scope. Each service homeowners search for gets its own page: kitchens, baths, whole home and additions. Every page ends in a consultation request. We host it, secure it and keep it up to date.

You getA site that passes Google’s PageSpeed test, or you don’t pay. The site is yours after the first 3 paid months.

  2. Google, Maps and SEO

The problemHomeowners search for a remodeler in their own town. The map shows 3 companies before anyone else.

What we doWe manage your Google Business Profile: the categories, the services, the service areas and the project photos. Every month we write or improve 2 pages, chosen for the searches worth the most to you. A page can be a service page, a page for a town you serve, a case study or an answer to a question homeowners ask.

You getYour position for your main searches in every town you serve, tracked every month across your whole area, not from one spot.

  3. Reviews

The problemHomeowners read a remodeler’s reviews before they book a consultation, and they check how recent the reviews are.

What we doEvery client gets a review request when their project is finished. We reply to every review in your voice.

You getYour rating and review count every month, next to the 3 remodelers above you on the map.

  4. Ads

The problemPages and reviews take months to build. Shared lead services send the same request to several remodelers at once.

What we doWe run one paid channel: Facebook and Instagram, or Google. We build the ads from your finished projects and test new versions every month. Each ad leads to its own landing page. We qualify every lead and follow up within 24 hours.

You getLeads from your own ads, sent to you alone.

  5. AI answers

The problemHomeowners now ask ChatGPT and Google’s AI which remodeler to call. AI answers name only a few companies for a whole city.

What we doAI answers build on the same signals as Google: your website, your Business Profile and your reviews across the web. Jobs 01, 02 and 03 build those signals. We also keep your company’s facts the same everywhere AI tools read them.

You getA monthly check of which AI assistants name you, for which searches, and who they name instead.

05Your options

Buying leads, a new website or an agency: how they compare

Lead and appointment services bring homeowners only while you pay. A new website on its own brings few homeowners until it ranks. An agency builds the website, Google and Maps, and reviews, and that work keeps bringing homeowners. Remodelers usually weigh 4 options:

Four ways remodelers get homeowners, compared
Shared lead services (Angi, HomeAdvisor, Thumbtack)Paid appointment servicesA new website on its ownAn agency (Seen and Found)
In shortThe same homeowner gets calls from several remodelers. The first to call usually gets the conversation, and the rest compete on price before the homeowner sees anyone’s work.Nothing you paid for builds your own name.It shows your work well, but without a complete Business Profile, recent reviews and a place on the map it gets few visitors. The website, Google and Maps, reviews, ads and AI answers as one plan. Questions

Questions remodelers ask

What remodeling and design-build owners ask us before they start.

11 questionsAnswered by our team
  1. To get more leads for a remodeling business, be one of the 3 or 4 remodelers homeowners see first, and look like the best of them. Most homeowners choose from Google’s map results and the remodelers an AI assistant names. Then they compare project photos and reviews. Your free Visibility Report shows where your company stands on each today.

  2. Paying for leads or appointments works only while you pay. Shared lead services such as Angi, HomeAdvisor and Thumbtack send the same request to several remodelers. Neither Angi nor HomeAdvisor publishes its lead prices. When you stop paying, the leads stop and nothing stays with your company. With us, your Business Profile, your reviews and your rankings keep bringing homeowners, and the website is yours after 3 paid months.

  3. With us, marketing for a remodeling company costs $2,500 a month on Found or $4,000 a month on Found + Ads. There is no setup fee. On Found + Ads you also pay the ad spend to Meta or Google directly. We recommend $1,500 a month to start. See everything in each package.

  4. There is no long contract. You start with 3 months, then you can stop any time with 30 days’ notice.

  5. Ads can run the same day we make them. How many good leads ads bring depends on the season, your area and your budget: across the US, “kitchen remodel near me” fell to 33,100 searches in November 2025 and rose to 135,000 in August 2026. Google and Maps usually take 3 to 6 months, because Google rewards a steady record. If your calls and leads in month 3 aren’t higher than in month 1, we keep working at no charge until they are, as long as you answer leads within one business day and, on Found + Ads, keep the ad budget at $1,500 a month. The monthly report shows every gain as it happens.

  6. You get a new custom website in every package, at no extra cost. If your current website is already strong, we keep what works and build on it.

  7. Yes. The website is yours after the first 3 paid months. Your Google Business Profile, your ad accounts, your domain and your reviews are yours from day one: they stay in your name, we only ask for access, and you can remove our access any time. If you leave, you keep all of them.

  8. Getting named by AI is a core part of every plan. ChatGPT, Gemini and Google’s AI mostly name the companies that are already strong on Google. 2026 studies of thousands of local businesses found 5 things behind the companies they name:

Reviews: named companies had a median of 444 Google reviews against 192 for those left out, at nearly the same rating (Zarla, August 2026).

Google rankings: 74.6% of the most recommended companies were in Google’s map results, against 21.1% of those never recommended (Insites, September 2026).

The Business Profile: the largest single source AI cites for a local company, 28.5% of citations (BrightLocal, September 2026).

The website: pages that say plainly what you build and where, one page per service, kept current.

Listings and mentions: Yelp, Angi, trade directories like Houzz and local “best of” lists, with the same name, address and phone everywhere.

We build all 5. Every month we ask the assistants your customers’ questions and show you where your company is named, and we keep working on the searches where it isn’t. No one controls an AI answer, the same as a first place on Google, so we show you the results every month.

  9. Yes. We work with design-build firms, kitchen and bath remodelers, whole-home renovators and additions contractors.

  10. No. We work with one remodeler per service area, so we never compete against our own client for the same homeowners.

  11. Yes, we work with remodelers across the US. Every plan is built around your own service area.
